The GULFSTAR OWNERS CLUB was established in 1991 for the benefit of Gulfstar owners after the company was bought by Viking Yachts.
The CLUB serves three main purposes: First to maintain a current membership roster for members to keep in touch; second to acquire as much original Gulfstar information as possible - specifications, wiring diagrams, etc. - which will be available to CLUB members, some for a small fee, some free of charge; and third to encourage camaraderie as evidenced by the GULFSTAR RENDEZVOUS each year, which also offers attendees an opportunity to see first-hand what upgrades and improvements other owners have made.
Membership has grown steadily since inception of the CLUB. Currently we boast nearly 420 vessels. The CLUB advertises in some magazines, especially for the Rendezvous, and we encourage our members to contact any Gulfstar they encounter at marinas or while cruising, to entice more members into the CLUB.
The CLUB is the only support for Gulfstar owners and it is financially supported only by its membership fees. In addition, the CLUB is the only medium for keeping the GULFSTAR name active within the boating industry.

WELCOME ALL! This website is designed for Gulfstar Owners Club Members
exclusively. However, if you own a Gulfstar sail or power vessel, we invite you
to join this fun, social club designed for maintenance and upgrade information
exchange and camaraderie.

The Gulfstar Owners Club membership (only $60 per year) offers a bi-monthly
newsletter called, Docklines, access to passwords for the official website,
copies of original brochures of your vessel (free), 1/2 price on any plans or
accessories, invitation to the Rendezvous, and access to: Burgees, Calling
Cards, Clam Shell Vents, Coasters, License Plates, Drink Coolies, Hats,
Visors, Logos, Door Mats, Sea Strainers, Maintenance Manuals, Boat-Friendly
Recipes, and T-Shirts.
Our members communicate through the newsletter, Docklines, and the
Forum section of our website. Many have been members since 1991 and
have witnessed the changes and modifications in their boats and families.
Club member, Charlie Johnson, is an Electrical Engineer and retired Naval
Officer, who monitors our website offering help whenever possible. He is
the President/Owner of JTB Marine Service.
Chris Caldwell, author of the Mechanical Maintenance Manual and a
Professional Delivery Captain, also monitors the Forum section of this
website.
These two club members are invaluable! They are both a college of
nautical knowledge. They are the Forum kings and they both rule!
We are not backed by any corporate sponsor. The club runs on membership
dues alone. It is a fun club designed for maintenance and upgrade information
exchange.
The club is managed out of the offices of Preferred Yacht Sales, owned by
Bill Gutknecht.
Bill and Irene Meinch (club founder, and a retired yacht broker) have
assisted clients with Gulfstars for over 20 years. They are considered
the Gulfstar "specialists" in the boating industry.
When you join, your membership packet includes: Gulfstar Owners Club
Coasters, Decals, License Plate, Calendar, Jar Gripper, Newsletter, Vendor
List, Membership Cards, Boat US (half priced) Group Discount, Meet the
Commodore Article, website instructions, and copies of all available, original
brochures of your type vessel. Member directories are now emailed to you.
